More Animal Cam

March--In Like a Lion, Out Like a Tiger

We've had a couple days of thawing temps, but yesterday was miserable. Severe winds and rain all day.  Last night the rain turned to snow. The cat hates wind as much as the dog, so she stayed hidden most of the day. This morning when I took  Rusty out, PuppyC came running full speed around the corner for us, apparently starving.
The  large ditch is still half frozen, so all the melting snow is flowing across the driveway. There's a drainage pipe under the sidewalk that's working, but it can't seem to keep up right now. It doesn't bother me much, because the sound of gurgling water is so pleasant this time of year.
This morning. Happy to see fresh, clean snow to eat, it was getting a bit scarce.
Driveway
Where's my breakfast, lady!
How sad.  She must have been pacing around an empty bowl, hungry, while I lazed in bed.

Animal Cam-Deer

I moved the camera down the driveway a bit, to the spot where there's a small watering hole that's thawing. So far this week we've seen a fox, Puppycat, a turkey, and these deer.  I'm hoping a mama bear will bring her babies by here soon.

Short Week

 It passed too quickly.
Bloomed on the first day of Spring. One of the few plants to survive indoors this winter.
Backyard of Death By Ice--haven't walked out here in months.  Look at the bare patches!

Spring Break--Party Time!

The weather is beautiful, wish you were here( but the sun is out today, yay!)
Patiently listening to all my exciting stories
Still listening, maybe, to all my blabbing
Trying to give everyone equal attention
This is just nuts. They're listening to a math video.
$3.99 at the Goodwill. I think it's oak.

Socialization Problem

I told him that some people still were concerned about him studying too much and maybe not having friends, being a homeschooler and all that stuff...was there any way he could prove to them? And though he's still never been to a basketball game, he seems to be doing more than fine.
And he'll be home tomorrow for a whole week! I'm baking cookies right now, and Ken's gone to stock up on all his favorite foods.

Day Before

Tuesday was beautiful. The driveway reappeared, and best of all--we saw water flowing in the creek and ditch. It was roaring loud enough to be heard from the front porch. Our shoes got muddy, the dog was muddy, the floors were covered in dirty prints, but it was marvelous. Then we woke up yesterday to heavy rain, then sleet, then more sleet, then snow, snow and snow. Walt's campus was shut down, as the Rochester area was supposed to get 15 to 20 inches. We had close to a foot, I think. One more week til Spring?

What To Do When It's Above 32

He can't stand anyone else getting attention

This is not "A friend of Mom is a friend of mine". It's more like "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer".
The snow has been frozen so hard that you can virtually walk across the top without sinking, and it's actually pretty deep here.
The winds Thursday blew all this across the sidewalk;it was clear the day before
Crazy guy
Open the windows to let fresh air in!
Hardworking crazy guy
Soaking up the sun while making sure that the water-hose is not going to be used to bathe him
Doing what a cat does
See the pale yellow spot? Rusty sniffed it, then went nuts running in circles tracking. Didn't have the heart to tell the dumb dog it was his own pee spot from this morning.

Rejoice, because it is only for one day. For Ken, it means washing the salty crap off the car.

Bananas and Kiwis For the Rescue

This lake looks pretty good to me now
Creepy snow, I think I even heard thunder with it
We went to Geneseo Thursday to take Walt some fruit, cookies, and pork sandwiches. He just looked so skinny the last time we saw him. He complains the food there is greasy and boring. I tend to think most foods up here are boring. In fact, I'd do anything right about now for a big plate of Mexican food. I had spicy chicken and chorizo for lunch while there, and I swear the chorizo was just Jimmy Dean breakfast sausage. Anyway, Walt looked much better. It was the best day we've had in a long time. There was a terrible snow storm that day, but things had slowed down by the time we were halfway home. The winds were terrible later that night, with all sorts of loud thumpings on the roof. Rusty was scared to death. One very loud thump, and this is how I spent the rest of the evening, watching a movie while he shivered and slobbered.
