Happy Halloween!
This is the scariest picture I could find today. I was going to spell out a holiday message with acorns or apple peelings, but it's been raining all day and I'm feeling very sloth-like. I found this slimy guy on the garage door. You know, if Walt was home, he'd be able to photoshop them, or cut them out and arrange them to spell out something for me... so you'll just imagine finding it sticking to your shirt, or falling onto your hair, or perhaps discovering it in your half-full glass of Dr. Pepper.
Perfect Wednesday
Started the morning with apple picking. |
Ken mowed during the afternoon, and I raked leaves whenever he looked my way. |
It was so warm the honeybees got busy again. |
We both spent a long time squatting under the sunflowers trying to get a pic of the chickadees |
Upside down chickadee butt |
Finally went in to eat barley soup that the neighbor brought. I took this one because Rusty was acting like he saw someone inside. |
The chimney reminds me of a castle turret |
Venus is barely visible right above hill in the middle. An hour later it looked huge. |
So many contrails |

Blustery Day at Geneseo
It was a miserably cold and windy day, so we picked Walt up and went directly to Tim Horton's. After nearly 2 hours of sandwiches, do-nuts, coffee, and stories, we went to WalMart for necessities. Then we went to his room, saw his room mate, nosed around the dorm, then hiked the path he takes to his classes. No wonder he is so thin. Apart from not eating enough, walking that much several times a day would be grueling. Even I would be skinny.
College hasn't taught him yet that raw tomatoes taste good |
Showing us his physics homework. He adores whiteboards. |
Still has the sideburns. |

Friday/Saturday
Your Swedish ivy's blooming, Mother. He'll probably have to live here in the laundry room the next 7 months. |
This is the "Uglies" apple tree that is near the coal pile. I need a tall ladder to pick them, but I am a bit sick of apples now, even though these make the best pies. |
Turkey visit this morning |
My favorite tree in the background |
Apple-pear for us |
Chocolate-coffee for Walt. Should be more fun than drinking Mountain Dews to stay awake. |
Grey Day |
Today is Parents Day at school, so we're letting Walt sleep late before going there and embarrassing him in front of his friends. I'll report back later on how many times he rolled his eyes or grimaced. Just kidding, Walt. I'll be on my best behavior.

Waiting For The Pie To Bake
The top squash is a butternut, the yellow one is a puny spaghetti, and I don't know what the green one is. Acorn? |
