I read that the teacher targeted ran away from the school. Part of me wonders about it. The teachers in Newtown, for instance, protected their kids. Maybe this teacher thought he could keep others from being harmed by doing that?
I know. It's interesting how some people react to emergencies. I used to freeze when Walt came to me bleeding. Ken had to deal with it. The video of the Boston Marathon bombing, where you see the explosion and smoke? The people standing in front of it, I don't know if they were police or just paid security to keep onlookers of the street, but they immediately turned TO the explosion and jumped in it without a second of hesitation. That amazes me, because my first instinct would be to run away.
The shame comes when lobbyists have enough power to stifle mere discussion in Congress. It's not a simple "take away all guns" attitude, but some want to portray it as that. The few other countries that have experienced gun massacres of children decided that once was enough. Richard Slotkin has a series of books that explains how America is different this way; he was on Bill Moyers' show a week or so ago.
Do you get the AXS channel? There's a show called Dan Rather Reports that's always interesting. Sometimes politics, often not. I like him. He went to school with Mother, and she always called him a jerk because he once dropped a book on her head. I'd like to write him to see if he remembers her.
I would also like to comment on football! I've never been a fan of football so I don't understand why fans believe their entertainment justifies irreversible brain damage for the players. Shame on the players for willingly busting their heads for fame and money.
Did you see the PBS special on a certain type of damage they're finding in the brains of football players who've died? They are even finding it in those who didn't have the serious concussions. It's awful.
I didn't see that. I think the news said certain catcher on a baseball team has some kind of brain damage. (I was probably reading your blog at the same time. Lol.)
Tragic. Another shooting in Colorado. The lovely girl who was wounded was apparently in the way. I hope she recovers.

DeleteI think he was scared sh**less!

DeleteHow many innocent lives have to be taken before gun advocates see that they are as guilty as the shooters? I am odd man out with my Texas family.

DeleteI'm going to start recording that show.

DeleteNo, I don't get that channel. Daddy never liked Dan R. because he was too liberal. Funny story about the book.
