Treasure Hunting

Cold, bored, waiting impatiently for Walt to come home. Wanted to go shopping, but I dread getting out among all the coughing, wheezing people, so we went to our favorite antique store.
California Pies--10 cent deposit
Candle holders--They may not be very old, but I love the shape. Ken picked them out.

  1. I like your stuff. Was that the antique store in Hornell or the place where Walt got the trunk? There are so many fun places there. I wish we lived closer.

    1. Where we got the trunk, in Canisteo. We went to Elmira yesterday to shop. Ick. I hate Christmas shopping. I just want to run after someone and whack them on the head when they cough without covering their mouth. WalMart smelled like Death and Dick's Sporting Goods was 100 degrees and filled with feverish looking people. It also had Chinese made winter gloves for $50 and crappy little caps for 30+, so we didn't stay long. Then we stopped at a gas station that sold the best smelling pizza and had the cleanest restrooms I've ever been in. I didn't want to leave. Finally we ended up in Corning, the downtown area where you had lunch with Bill's relative. They had the neatest antique stores, full of knick knacks, glass, and jewelry for reasonable prices. We'll have to go there this summer. There are also some clothing stores like Bass and Hilfigger. Walt needs new pants and refuses to wear the faux-dirty/faded ones at the usual places, so maybe we can find some extreme after Xmas sales.
