While We Were Gone

Many leaves fell

The bear ate the hornets' nest (again)

The peppers survived

Backyard- -I don't think the colors are as bright as last year
Backyard facing the road

Driveway--we're glad the neighbor loaned us his leaf picker upper

Even the bears won't eat this brand of birdseed

The sedum turned from pale pink to this

Backyard facing the hill.

    1. We used to go through Tenn,Virginia, and Maryland to get home, but have since found a shorter way. It's a very boring path, though. The only spot that I can really remember is getting to either Memphis or Nashville in the middle of the night and seeing its downtown lit up beautifully across the river. The trees started looking prettier in Ohio, but when we crossed in to Pennsylvania, bam! Everything looked instantly amazing. I was worried I'd miss the foliage altogether. I spent a long time yesterday searching for the perfect leaves to mail to Mother.
