Eating and Shopping in Elmira

We went to Elmira early yesterday to get stuff for the dorm. This is everything he says he needs, besides his clothes/shoes and tennis racket. Boys are so much easier than girls, aren't they? We got an invitation from the school to have lunch after dropping him off next month. I think it's just so they can make a bunch of speeches to make all the moms cry more. I told Ken that I plan on coming home, listening to Judy Collins sing this  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AbIuC9hTY9Y
After shopping we met the gang(plus his other sister from NYC) for lunch. I did not recognize her at all. Surgery, jet black hair, she even changed her voice. Grandma and Debbie were in a very happy, silly mood, so we all had a fun time together.

  1. Fun! Is there a desk lamp and flip flops for the shower? Calendar? Photo of Rusty? Stamps?(Ok I dated myself on that one!)Floor rug? Laundry supplies? Little first aid kit? Is that a surge protector in the bag?
Yes, boys are easier than girls. No shoe stackers, makeup cases, Multiple 3 drawer stacks from Walmart,100 posters and sticky pads, vases with flowers, mermaid statues, dozens of picture frames, fish bowls....
Just wait til you move out. It will have accumulated.

  2. And I can't even begin to describe the accumulation after 2 years in an apartment!

I forgot about a surge protector and first aid. I have a floor rug picked out at Lowe's, he thinks he won't need one. He wrote to his room mate a few days ago, his girlfriend is from Austin, but she's going to college in Turkey.

  3. He'll need a rug. The dorm floors are notoriously cold in the winter.
